Logging Off For Christmas

December 19, 2013

Hey Everyone!

This is just a quick message to let you know that I'll be 'logging off' over Christmas.

This is going to be very difficult for me because I love, love, LOVE blogging, posting on YouTube and interacting with everyone on Twitter. I love everything about blogging - coming up with ideas, researching them, taking photos, writing a post, editing it, reading and replying to comments. I thrive off it all and love every part of it.

Having said that I really want to be 'home' for Christmas, and I don't mean home but with my laptop on or phone constantly in hand.

I am working Monday and Friday of Christmas week plus away from home for of the two days and hosting Christmas at home on boxing day. There won't be time for much blogging! So, the plan is 'log off' on Sunday night and not go back on until Friday night when Maddie is in bed.

It's going to be tough! I have a post and a video scheduled to go up on Christmas day (as it falls on a Wednesday which is my usual upload day on YouTube) but these don't count as they are done and dusted already. It's going to be so hard not to look at comments, I love to hear feedback about my chosen topics.

I also want to have a better balance overall, interest in my blog has been amazing the past few weeks and really taken me by surprise, but I can't let that take me away from my main job as Mummy (which I also love!) Going forward I want to have set times of the day that I 'log in' and 'work' so that I am not distracted from my lovely day to day life! It's weird to call it 'work' as I don't get paid and I enjoy every second of it... Doesn't seem much like work to me!

What do you think? Do you ever feel a bit pulled in different directions? Do you have to be strict with yourself about how much time you spend 'running' your blog? Because, lets be honest ladies, it's not just about writing blog posts is it? There is a great social side to it too! Will you be taking any time 'off' over Christmas?

Thanks for the support, I hope it doesn't sound like moaning as I love everything about blogging but sometimes it can be overwhelming and you need to 'unplug' from time to time :-)
Wishing you a merry, green, fun filled Christmas :-) xx

  2. My sentiments exactly! I love blogging but I was thinking of taking a few days off, too. I'm not sure how long, but I definitely won't want to be blogging over Christmas! And you're right. ..it's not just post a blog post and that's it. TheRe is so much work involved, researching, taking pictures, writing up. Editing. And I would like to relax with some mince pies and family tbh, I definitely won't have my mobile near me. I hope u have a lovely Christmas :-) xx

It can be difficult to juggle it all but everyone deserves a well deserved break to plus sometimes it can be a good thing (some of my best ideas come from having a break) have a fantastic Christmas and New year! :D xx Rinica
