Recent Empties

September 03, 2014

Time for another empties post (or video if you click here)!

I want to make these a regular feature on my blog if I can as I got great feedback from my first one and I am actually quite excited to tell you all about my 'rubbish'!

Only other bloggers/youtubers/blog readers will understand the enjoyment and value that comes from talking about what I am going to throw away!!

Let's get the worst bit over...

Lily Lolo

I am throwing away all but two of my Lily Lolo lipsticks and a couple of my glosses. Oh. Dear.

I noticed in Late July, early August that they were smelling a bit iffy and they were 'sweating' in the heat. (Literally, they had beads of condensation on them) Although Lily Lolo tell me their lip products have a 24 month shelf life I think the smell and look of my lip glosses/sticks prove otherwise.

I don't like to be rude on here but I am really disappointed with Lily Lolo, some lasted longer than others but nearly all of them 'went off' before even 6 months was up. I bought the old style packaging in the sales so it does make me wonder how long they had been sat there ready made up before they reached me. Humf.

I won't be repurchasing as a lot contained carmine and I am excited to try lip products from other brands like Silk Naturals, Red Apple Lipstick and Pumpkin & Poppy... It's time for new colours anyway but I will NOT be buying anywhere near as many this time. (She says.)

Make up including:
Zao Organics Black Liquid Eye Liner

This stuff was brilliant and I got it at a low, introductory price. I personally wouldn't re-purchase this at full price as I can't justify it with how often I use it (I'll be buying one from TANF instead) but if you would get a lot of wear out of it, want to support a European company and think £15.95 is a price that you'd be happy with then by all means go ahead. I personally can't fault the formula or the product.

The All Natural Face Vegan Eye Liner, Hot Fudge Brownie

This is brilliant, much more user friendly than the Zao one as it was much harder to go wrong thanks to the formula and brush. I love the colour of this as it is just a bit softer and subtler than black so it is ideal for daily wear.

Honey Pie Minerals Foundation (sample)

This is another favourite product for me! I love the coverage and lasting power of this and it is a perfect colour match for me. I won't be buying the full size as I have fallen in love with La Mav and I don't need two foundations but I had been planning to buy it and I would 100% recommend it.

TANF Blusher Samples
I really love these blushes; they are great colours, very pigmented and last all day. These are one of the few blushes that don't disappear throughout the day and a tiny bit goes a long way.

Hair Products including:
Dessert Essence Conditioner

This is okay, it isn't amazing but it certainly isn't bad! It is very affordable and you get so much product for your money. I love the smell of this as well. I am working my way through another bottle of this and lots of samples... then I will decide what to buy next!

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

This is not natural and I have finally used it up, I won't be re-purchasing although I do like how my hair looks when I use it I know it is artificial and not doing much good in the long run.

Odylique Gentle Herb Shampoo

I quite enjoyed this, it is very soft and subtle but it gets my hair lovely and clean. I think I will buy the full size of this soon.

Aloe Dent is a regular in my empties posts! I tried out some earthpaste and wasn't convinced! My mouth and teeth didn't feel that clean after using it so I won't be rushing out to buy it, I'll stick with my Aloe Dent.

Bathing Beauty Miracle Soap

This is nothing short of amazing, I really enjoyed using this soap and I love the brand as a whole. If you have sensitive skin you need this soap... in my humble opinion anyway.

Skin Care Samples including:
Suki Face day lotion.

Uh-uh. Nope. Not a fan at all. Hated the smell, the consistency... everything about this was a huge turn off.

Tata Harper Floral Essence

This was okay but nothing special, I enjoyed using it but don't miss it now it's finished.

One Love Organics

I enjoy everything from OLO especially the Love Springs Eternal Serum and the Skin Saviour Beauty Balm

Lyonsleaf Body Butter

This is a really lovely body butter and because it is such a reasonable price I think I will buy it in full size when I need a new one. (I am trying to stick to 'one in one out' on my skin care as well, I already have a few body butters so can't justify buying another)

Dash Skincare Tropical Smoothie Body Butter

This was really lovely as well! It isn't scented and it is very moisturising so I enjoyed using and would definitely buy the full size... but not yet!

There you go, what I have been using and what I think of it.

  1. You just reminded me I wanted to buy Dash body cream, I sampled at the show & good first impression. Nice to see you gave Gentle Herb shampoo a thumbs up. I had a sample of Sukin Cleanser and I threw it away, thought it was dreadful

  2. I've just purchased the full size of the shampoo... nope Sukin have not impressed me so far xx
