What's in my Travel Make Up Bag?

September 20, 2014

I am so excited!

My brother is getting married... in Mauritius no less!

You can watch my video or keep on reading.

This is what is in my travel make up bag, including products to use for a family wedding:

Make Up Brushes

Keeping it minimal and just taking a few face and eye brushes.

Face

For my main face make up I am taking my SPF 15 La Mav loose powder as the SPF will keep me protected on sunny evenings.

I also wanted to take my Christopher Drummond concealer so I can look extra flawless on the big day.

I have a sample of the Silk Naturals brow powder in Golden Blonde which is my perfect shade, that is definitely coming with me!

Cheeks

You may have noticed I didn't pack any blush brushes. That's because I am only taking cream products with me and I prefer to use my fingers to blend them out.

Of course my absolute favourite blush has to come (Pumpkin and Poppy in English Rose) plus my awesome RMS Lip2Cheek in modest. I love multi tasking products when packing for a trip and I love this equally on my lips or my cheeks.

Hoola Hoop bronzer is such a winner - so easy to use and very subtle do of course that is coming too.

Eyes

The tried-and-true, trusty Green People mascara will be coming with me as I know I like it and that it works well without flaking all over the place.

My Neve pencil in brown will give me subtle definition and my brija Cosmetics Wide eyed pencil will make me look bright and wide awake.

I want to look my best for the wedding (photos) so I am packing some false lashes from Red Cherry along with some of the Eco Tools formaldehyde free glue.

I pressed some of my all time favourite eye shadows so that I could take them on holiday with me without worrying about the mess. Generally I love loose pigments and find them easier to work with but pressed are much better for travelling. I decided to use my Unii palette over my RAL Z palette as the Unii palette has a lovely big mirror in it. Does any one else find that hotel mirrors are always in the worst possible place for lighting?

Lips

Katie (What Katie Rates) made me (!) buy the Hurraw Sun Balm (SPF 15) when we were in Wholefoods so that will be coming with me to keep my lips safe, protected and healthy.

I love the bright yet natural colour and conditioning formula of the Yvonne Jelly by Brija Cosmetics so I can't possibly leave that behind. For the wedding I think I will wear my Red Apple Lipstick gloss in Honey Badger as it is a beautiful, subtle and very natural colour.

If I wasn't going to the wedding and I was just packing for the wedding I wouldn't take my bronzer, eye lashes or the additional concealer. I like to travel light!

  1. I have the same lip balm in Chai! Its a beautiful spicy sweet scent that's perfect for fall, whilst leaving lips soft and smooth. And I see some other favorites brands up there: RMS Beauty and Red Apple Lipstick included.
