Recent Empties

October 15, 2014

I know a lot of people love an empties post, I enjoy writing/filming them as I can give mini reviews on lots of products... You can watch my video here or carry on reading:

I'll try and run through these quickly but there are quite a few here so brace yourself!

Cold Pressed Sweet Almond Oil

This is a constant re-purchase for me, it is the main oil I use in most DIYs and I use it as my make up remover, I buy it by the litre!

Repurchase? Already have.

Peppy Galore Fruit Punch Body Mousse

This works brilliantly and was a cool orange colour! I loved how light and fluffy this was.

Repurchase? I would but unfortunately Peppy Galore have ceased trading.

Bloom Remedies Body Butter*

This divine smelling and extremely effective body butter had a balm type texture (in my opinion) and I am head over heels in love with it. It smells and feels so luxurious but it is perfect for everyday use, especially on my dry legs! (full review here)

Repurchase? Yep! Just using up others first.

Lush - Mask of Magnaminty (Self-preserving)

Curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to give something from Lush a go! I can't really say anything bad about this but I didn't find it really did anything particularly good either.

Repurchase? No. It's a lot more expensive and less effective than one of my DIY masks.

Oh! Organics Melissa Toner*

This is a lovely toner that I really enjoyed using, it's a great price too.

Repurchase? Yes, when I've used up my Acure one.

Soapwalla Deodorant

I use this alongside my Salt of the Earth crystal stick, I am not entirely convinced that it is the most effective product or really worth the higher price tag but I keep coming back to it.

Repurchace? Have already

TANF Olive Squalane Oil

This is a firm favourite of mine, I love the price, the effectiveness and I find it really suits my skin.

Repurchase? Yep, already have.

Rahua Conditioner (travel size)*

This was really lovely to use and I liked the effect it had on my hair but I am not prepared to pay the full price!

Repurchase? I might buy the travel sizes again as a treat one day but I am not rushing out to buy it just yet.

The Little Alchemist - Ultra C Radiance Serum*

This is a beautiful serum, the best 'mixed' oil I have used to date, it's a shame it has to come all the way from Australia to get to me.

Repurchase? In theory yes, I just have to save up to cover international postage and customs fees!

TANF Gel Eyeliner (Caramel Brownie)

I love the formula of this but didn't use it very often because the colour was a bit too light for me.

Repurchase? Other colours, yes, this colour, no.

Pinks Boutique - Lemongrass Set*

This set was good to get an idea of the brand and I enjoyed the scrub and the balm but I was not blown away by anything.

Repurchase? No

100% Pure Mascara (Chocolate/Brown)*

I won this in Louise (Kinder Health and Beauty) giveaway and I was SUPER excited to try it. It's very lengthening but doesn't quite pack the punch that I want in a mascara, especially not at the price it is here in the UK.

Repurchase? No

Green People Volumising Mascara (Black)

I'm a big fan of this effective, affordable and reliable mascara.

Repurchase? Already have a back up in my drawer!

Lily Lolo Lipsticks and Lip Glosses

I am sorry to say that these have started to smell funny too so they are going in the bin. I have to admit I've fallen out of love a bit with Lily Lolo.

Repurchase? No

And there you have it! What do you think of some of those items? Had a similar experience at all?

  1. A nice collection for the rubbish bin. I did not get on with that Rahua conditioner, it just made my hair really weird :/

  2. ooh I've been looking for a liquid eyeliner. Did the All Natural Face Gel Eyeliner perform well?
I don't buy anything from Lush anymore. I think that they are semi greenwashers and nothing I've purchased from them has performed that well. Especially for the price!
    Lovely post. xx

  3. yeah it's really great! I have re-purchased in other colours (black and hot fudge brownie) I certainly recommend it, especially for the price.
Yeah, I think that was me giving Lush one last chance... and they failed! haha!
    Thanks for reading :-)

  4. No? That's a shame. I've heard someone else say it has a weird smell but I didn't find that... well, were all different I guess :-)

  6. Such a shame that Peppy Galore ceased trading. I haven't tried the Rahua products as I just can't justify the price x
